Our first general meeting of the year took place at Andromeda Gardens in St. Joseph on 9th January.
Thank you ladies for making the effort to drive out to Bathsheba!
Thirty of our CWC members and guests attended the meeting and afterwards we enjoyed a personal tour of the Gardens by the Garden Manager, Sharon, and a delicious lunch for what turned out to be a tremendous, fun-filled day. What a great start to the new year!
Here’s a few photos from our tour and lunch!
On Wednesday 12th December approximately 30 of our Members gathered at the gorgeous home of our Treasurer – Cynthia – to celebrate the Christmas Season.
After a delicious lunch we were treated to sampling a variety of wines made by Westcott Winery in Canada. Thank you to Celeste of Platinum Wines for coming out to do this for us at short notice!
At the end of the afternoon, some of our Members were also lucky enough to walk away with prizes from our gift bag draw! Additionally, one of our Members, Maureen Tracey, kindly donated one of her original ready-to-frame pieces of art which was also drawn at the end of the afternoon.
It was a really fun afternoon with great company and we are happy to have received many kind words of thanks from so many of our Members who attended!
An extra special thank you to Cynthia for opening up her home to all of us, decorating it beautifully and providing us with what was the perfect venue for our Christmas gathering!
Thanks also to Ebonnie Rowe for taking photographs throughout the afternoon!
Our first Meeting for the 2018-2019 year, a Potluck Dinner, came off on Wednesday 14th November at our President, Heather Laughlin’s, lovely home. This was actually our third attempt to have this event – the previous two attempts unfortunately having been called off at short notice due to impending bad weather in September and October this year!
Despite some heavy rain showers in the early evening which had a few of us a bit nervous about whether or not we would indeed be “third time lucky” we had a good turn out of Members. We even had 4 new Members join the Club that night and we were thrilled when they expressed an interest in forming a CWC Book Club! (If this is something that interests you too let us know so we can get you added to this group!)
In usual potluck style, there was a wide variety of scrumptious dishes served which were certainly enjoyed by all who attended.
A big thank you to Heather for opening up her home to us for the evening and to everyone who came out to join us!
